Daily Prompt – Decisions of Growth: You’re Never Too Old To Learn

Daily writing prompt
Describe a decision you made in the past that helped you learn or grow.
R Dub – a 60 year old Masters Degree Grad! We are never too old and our situation is never at a place where we shouldn’t learn. Growth is the result.

What decision did I make in the past that helped me learn or grow? Quite literally deciding to learn at the tender age of 57 has resulted in not only learning, but growing.

How so? The act of earning my Masters of Science in Management propelled a promotion from night shift Production Supervisor to Customer Service Department Head. During the night time gig, I mostly got out of the way providing needed resources on occasion.

The result of the decision. Now I have daily interaction with customers large and small, rep agencies, sales management, upper management both inside and outside of our facility, operations within the facility from top to bottom and of course with my Customer Service team.

From stale and bored to involved and responsible. Great growth for a guy over 60 years old. The pressures are greater, but I feel vital again. Thanks to Ambir, my manager at the time, for encouraging me to go back to college and get that Masters!
